Liberal Democrat Local Election Manifesto 2012

After securing their best ever council election result in Wales in 2008, it was going to be hard to replicate that success again in 2012. Leading the councils in Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham, and part of a governing coalition in other local authorities, including Newport – they  had a lot to lose.

Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Kirsty Willianms launched the party’s campaign for the local government elections 2012 by promising to continue delivering better local services, betterb schools and better value for money.

Entitled “Better schools, better services, better value”, the party outlined their vision to see more powers over local issues in  the hands of local people across Wales.

Election night proved to be a brutal for the Liberal Democrats, losing control of Cardiff and Swansea to Labour.
