The 2011 Assembly Election was Kirsty Williams’ first as leader. The focus was on challenging the incumbent Labour-Plaid Coalition and highlighting perceived weaknesses in delivery. It was set against a challenging position for the Liberal Democrats, a year after the formation of the UK Coalition Government with the Conservatives.
